How will Tuesday's ruling affect OSU?

It’s obvious that first-year coach Urban Meyer has made a big impact at The Ohio State University.
The former Bowling Green, Utah and Florida coach and his staff has been hitting the recruiting trail hard — and have come away successful with verball commitments.
The Buckeyes are currently ranked 10th in the ESPN national recruiting trail, but that jumped up with recent verbals commiting to the Scarlet and Gray.
Included is four top-150 recruits, including Harrisburg (Pa.) defensive end Noah Spence, who is ranked fourth overall.
In addition, defensive end Se’Von Pittman (from Canton) and defensive tackle Tommy Schutt (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) flipped from Michigan State and Penn State, respectively, to OSU.
OSU’s top four recruits have committed in the last month.
It will be interesting to see what impact Tuesday of OSU being hit with a one-year bowl ban and other penalties will have on the players who are planning on making their Columbus home for a few years.
Will high school players with a history of winning and competing for championships be willing to come to Columbus, knowing that a postseason game and to compete for the Big Ten Championship next season is now out of the window?
The consensus seemed to be that OSU's self imposed sanctions of vacating wins from the 2010 season, its share of money for winning the Sugar Bowl earlier this year, a reduction of scholarships and probation would suffice the NCAA.
It didn't work.
Meyer said he took the OSU job Nov. 28 knowing full could down the pipeline. It has and nearly 12 months after the initial story broke, at least there’s some closure.
But the impact could be felt for a long time.
