The short-handed Western Reserve wrestling team managed to split duals with Huron and Genoa despite fielding just 10 wrestlers in each dual.

Nathan Beal (113), Josh Sommers (145), Tyler Grys (120) and Tim Hunkley (170) scored two contested wins apiece for the 'Riders. Huron's Nino Majoy (285) and Will Sams (160) each recorded a pair of wins for the Tigers. Beal pinned Huron's Brysen Mansor in the final bout of the night to give Western Reserve the 41-39 victory over the Tigers.

Norwalk falls to Perkins, Fremont Ross in tri-match: Norwalk gave up the margin of victory in three forfeits in a 42-24 loss to Perkins Wednesday night. Norwalk's Kyle Lang and Jake Alexander both went 2-0 and improved to 6-0 on the season, while Collin Bickerstaff and Scott Alexander also went 2-0 in Wednesday's duals.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Midview 53, Vermilion 47: The Sailors allowed the Middies their first win of the season Wednesday night in a West Shore Conference loss in Grafton.

Vermilion's AuBree LaForce scored 20 points for the Sailors. She leads the team with a 19.4 points per game scoring average.
