Only the boys and girls track and field teams are still running, throwing, and jumping for Sandusky, but its been a season unlike any other since the Streaks joined the Greater Buckeye Conference.
Chalk up league titles in baseball and boys track, a Division I district title appearance in softball, and three tennis players in the D-1 district quarterfinals.
Coming into the season, Sandusky had never won a GBC title since joining the league shortly after the turn of the millenium.
Then, within four days, the Streaks had two.
First was the baseball team's storybook ride to a league crown, capping a turnaround season that saw Sandusky roll to the title May 12 with an 8-2 win against Napoleon.
Then the boys track team ran away with the GBC title May 15, and senior Dailyn Moore became a four-time GBC Athlete of the Year.
The softball team beat Fremont Ross 4-0 on Tuesday in the Division I district semifinal to advance to Thursday's district championship, where the Lady Streaks led early, 1-0, and were toe-to-toe with Oregon Clay.

A Fandy.com poll showed Willard's Alex Steinmetz got 50% of the votes as the best tennis player in the area... I have no doubt the best tennis player is Sandusky senior Travis Steinemann. Put him on the court against anyone from the area, and the winningest player in the history of the program will showcase his game. Coming into the year, I was between Steinemann and Port Clinton's Blake Troller; Steinemann won the matchup in two sets.
End of discussion.

The storybook spring still needs final chapter.
Will it end with the headline 'STATE CHAMP' on Page B1 of the June 7 Sandusky Register next to a photo of Moore atop the podium in Columbus?
It seems like the logical ending.

Random thought of the day: Do I need to be constantly be reminded just which coast the 2 a.m. SportsCenter is being broadcast from?
"Hey, it's SportsCenter, from Los Angeles... Just up the road from our Los Angeles studios, the Angels taking on the Orioles... Let's go live to the Staples Center, across the street from our LA studio, for more on the Lakers-Nuggets game."
I get it. You're in LA. The weather is great. Everywhere else sucks.
Now anchor the show without any more references to the 213, 310, 323, 424, 661, or 818 area codes you enjoy rocking,
