10 things I think about the first week of football... and more

1. Following up on Mark Hazelwood's five burning questions... Clyde will three-peat; Watson throws for 3,250 and 30 TDs; I've been talking about Perkins-Sandusky since June; Schwieterman's broken thumb probably hurts him more than St. Paul — literally; Edison's a contender, but that doesn't equal a conference crown.

2. I like the Fliers to run the table — again — in the SBC because they have the league's top performer in Kade Kramer, who is my preseason favorite to win Most Outstanding Performer.

3. A rough economy has given on positive side-effect — better local matchups. Perkins' non-conference includes Bellevue, Sandusky and Norwalk. Huron doesn't even leave Erie County this year (Vermilion, hosting Norwalk and St. Paul),

4. If Perkins expects to keep Curt Watson in check Friday, its needs some type of pass rush. Watson had a lifetime to sit in the pocket last year and pick his targets, going to third and fourth reads in a 27-16 win.

5. If Watson expects to have a repeat performance, he needs a new line that only has three lettermen back to keep his jersey clean.

6. Sandusky officials and coaches can't remember the last time the Streaks played a game on Saturday night. Coach Mike Franklin said he never has in his 12 years with the program, and the last time was likely a playoff game.

7. If I ran the Northwest Ohio Catholic Schools Assoc. cross country Invite Monday at Osborne Park, my personal best 21:11 5k would have earned a third-place finish.
In the girls race.
A 21:11 5k in the boys race would get me a participation award at the end of the season.

8. Two matches in two day, and Port Clinton goes 10-0 combined on the tennis court. Nice to see Sandusky bounce back from a 4-1 loss with a 4-1 win.

9. Norwalk's girls soccer team looks ready to pick up where it left off after a thorough win against Edison. The Truckers (only two losses last year) had a 2-0 lead at halftime. My thought: Good Edison defense or a lack of finishing from the Norwalk offense? Though All-Ohioan Lisa Patusky managed a hat trick.

10. I still don't get why SportsCenter from Los Angeles constantly feels the need to remind viewers it's broadcasting from Los Angeles. I get it... you're in California while I'm

Hey Anthony,

Somewhere during your editing the Fandy Football preview you lost the Edison Charger roster.
