Area teams will head to Marshall Park Saturday for the 42nd Bill Brown Classic cross country meet.
Those teams include Sandusky, Norwalk, Monroeville, Clyde, Willard, Huron, Margaretta, New London, Western Reserve and Plymouth.

Competition begins at 9 a.m. with the boys high school “Gold” race. The girls high school gold, boys and girls high gold races will follow. The “Gold’’ race is for all Division I and strong Divisions II and III schools.

The “Blue” races start at 11 a.m., beginning with the boys junior high, followed by girls junior high, boys high school and girls high school.

Other teams scheduled to compete are Ashland, Bucyrus, Centerburg, Clear Fork, Colonel Crawford, Crestview, Galion Middle School, Hathaway Brown, Highland, Lake, Lexington Junior High, Lucas, Mansfield Sr., Marion Harding, Olmsted Falls, Ontario, River Valley, Seneca East, Shelby, St. Edward Middle School, Mansfield St. Peter, Upper Sandusky and West Holmes.

Ontario is located five miles west of Mansfield. The high school is on Shelby-Ontario Road between U.S. 30 and Ohio 309. Marshall Park is across the street from Ontario High School.

The course is five kilometers (3.1 miles) for high school runners. The seventh and eighth graders will run two miles.

First and second-place team trophies will be awarded for all team events. Medals will be presented to seven members of the winning team and top 10 finishers in each event. Places 11 through 21 will receive ribbons.
