FOOTBALL: Sandusky players named to All-Ohio team

A pair of Sandusky players were named to the Division II All-Ohio list Monday.
Blue Streak seniors DaQuez Davis and Eddie Wimbley were on the Division II Special Mention list after garnering first-team all-district honors.
Both players, co-captains for the Greater Buckeye Conference co-champs, were first team all-conference selections, and Wimbley was the league’s top defensive lineman.
North Canton Hoover back Erick Howard and defensive stalwart Jordan Hicks of West Chester Lakota West, are among the top stars on the 2009 Associated Press Division I and II All-Ohio high school football teams.
Howard, the 2008 Mr. Football, was the offensive player of the year in Division I, with Hicks sharing defensive honors with Massillon Washington’s Bo Grunder.
Division II players of the year are Dominique Brown of Cincinnati Winton Woods, Logan’s Patrick Angle, Devin Clodfelter of Columbus Independence, Mentor Lake Catholic’s Joe Ribiero and Chagrin Falls Kenston’s Pat Behm.
Coaches of the year include Middletown’s Jason Krause, Springfield’s Rick Robertson and Dublin Coffman’s Mark Crabtree along with Dick Cromwell of Toledo St. Francis and Brian Cross of Lewis Center Olentangy Orange.
