Now i know that it is Janurary, but in the holy name of track and field, i think its about time to get a little wind blown in the direction of this great spring sport. I being a alumni to the Perkins Pirates, i can't say i know to much about any other programs other then Clyde, Huron and the Pirates. I know people will see this so, lets get some chatting going. Who is going to be good, who should people be looking out for, can anyone in D2 make a push at Eastwood this year. My account on JJ is slowly dying so this site is becoming my main area of checking.

As for who to watch this season, the only team I can really speak for is the pirates. We bring back quite a bit of kids, but the few we lost last year will be tough to replace. I think even with Steinhauser graduating, Perkins should continue to dominate in both the shot and the discus. I am really excited to watch our returning hurdler this year to see if he will step up to fill Kalis's shoes. Sprinting will be an area of concern for us, mainly because we do not have a "stud" sprinter to rely on. We will have much depth, and I think we will surprise some people in the relays, but we need someone to step it up for the open events. We remain young in the long distance, so I am excited to watch a few kids mature and start dropping some times. The 800 will be another good area for us, mainly because we return all of our state qualifying 4x8 team. We should also have two pole vaulters make it to the state meet this year if all goes as planned. We will be real young in the jumping events, but that is to be expected after graduating all 3 jumpers from last season.
This should be a very exciting in for every team in the SBC, and I cannot wait until outdoor season starts!
